Payroll & Accounting Specialist
Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm
We are currently seeking a Payroll & Accounting Specialist. This role is responsible for processing the company’s semi-monthly payroll, and involved with the daily operations of Treasury including: Accounts Receivable/Payable, Invoice Coordination, G/L, and Bill Review processing.
Essential Functions:
1. Perform all phases of the payroll processing cycle in an accurate and timely manner
2. Update and maintain payroll files and databases to reflect personnel payroll changes
3. Assist employees and supervisors with payroll issues, and requests for payroll information on a regular basis
4. Research payroll issues/discrepancies and processes necessary corrections
5. Comply with the regulatory standards and policies and procedures of payroll for each State
6. Record new hire information, process terminations, transfers, wage garnishments, benefit deductions and vacation accrual
7. Maintain and comply with tax and unemployment insurance related documents, etc.
8. Process claims in proprietary bill review software, in accordance with established provider and client rates
9. Assist with maintaining G/L
10. Assist with training on NSG procedures related to Treasury and Payroll
11. Assist with the daily operations of Treasury including: Accounts Receivable/Payable and Invoice Coordination
12. Identify inefficiencies and applies corrective action
13. Assist Controller with a variety of other functions
Skills & Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma, some college preferred
2. 3+ years related accounting and payroll experience, required
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
4. Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
5. Proficient in MS Office, with strong MS Excel
6. ADP payroll software knowledge, preferred
7. Team player, quick learner and self-motivated
8. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
9. Maintain highest level of professional ethics and compliance with all company policies and regulations
10. Excellent interpersonal, bookkeeping, analytical, and problem solving skills
11. Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial and employee files
